Congratulations to Daniel Seth Kraus!
Our very own Daniel Kraus, second year MFA student in photography, was recently awarded a 2016 Professional Development Fellowship through the College Art Association. This is a highly competitive and prestigious international award given to only one graduate student across all visual disciplines. I've been told that he is the first Tyler Graduate student to ever receive the award. He will attend the CAA annual conference next week in New York City for an award ceremony.
Here's his brief bio:
Daniel Seth Kraus‘s work blends historical research with photographic practice to deepen our understanding of people and places. Currently his research investigates faith and work in the American South. Kraus’s work has been featured in numerous print and online publications, including Fraction Magazine, SeeSaw Magazine, Oxford American, and Aint Bad Magazine. His photographs have been exhibited in national and international juried exhibitions. He earned a BFA in photography and a BA in history from the University of North Florida and is pursuing a MFA in photography at the Tyler School of Art at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
The next time you see Daniel, please congratulate him on this truly exceptional accomplishment!
