Water Resources Association Tribute to Jeff Featherstone
Lynn Mandarano, Associate Professor and Chair of the Planning and Community Development department, was invited to deliver a tribute to Dr. Jeffrey Featherstone at the Water Resources Association of the Delaware River Basin 35th Annual Recognition Awards Dinner. The WRA selected Jeff to receive the Samuel S. Baxter Memorial award. The Baxter award is given to the nominated "candidate who best exemplifies the purposes of the WRA as evidenced by the contribution to sound water management that was the keystone of Philadelphia's former Water Commissioner. in recognition of his accomplishments in protecting water resources." The award was presented to Nancy Featherstone at the Downtown Club in Philadelphia on April 19, 2017.
According to the WRA's website, "the WRA successfully participated in the development of a federal-interstate compact and the creation of the Delaware River Basin Commission" where Jeff worked as the Deputy Executive Director before coming to Temple University in 2001 as the founding Director of the Center for Sustainable Communities and Professor of Research in Planning and Community Development.
