Tyler's Pre-College and Adult Weekend Workshops allow students to explore new media and artistic interests, build technical skills and create artwork under the guidance of Tyler's dedicated faculty. These quick and intense studio art and design workshops are hands-on, incorporating studio time, demonstration and individual instruction. Students are encouraged to express their individual creativity by instructors who are experienced educators and practicing professionals within their fields. Beginner, intermediate and advanced level high school and adult learners will find a wide range of workshops designed to fit a busy schedule! Please view specific class pages below for information regarding tuition, dates, times, registration and any supply requirements. Most of our workshops are available for Act 48 credit hours.
Following the success of our Online Summer 2020 Pre-College Programs, and given the continued risks associated with the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to remain 100% online for fall 2020. Each of our programs has been adapted specifically for online learning to allow students to engage in hands-on, project-based learning from the safety of their homes. Our online programs are designed to be as interactive as possible and will include a mix of:
> Live face-to-face instruction and presentations with your instructors
> Time for hands-on art making and projects, both independently and in small groups
> Critique and discussion of projects with your instructors and classmates
> Virtual studio visits and guest lectures by practicing professionals
> Online resources such as virtual museum tours, site visits and demonstration videos
