Every month, alumni of Tyler's Art Education program return to campus for Early Career Art Teacher meet-ups. These meetings are fun, supportive get-togethers where new teachers can share their experiences in the classroom, present lesson plan ideas, and make connections within the Philadelphia education community. This past week, Tyler's early career art teachers had a chance to visit the Art of Student Teaching exhibition and participate in a workshop led by Michael Catalano (pictured above).

Last Thursday, Tyler School of Art hosted the last Early Career Art Teachers (ECAT) gathering of the Spring 2016 semester. Teachers demonstrated lesson plans, shared student work, visited the Art of Student Teaching exhibition, and discussed their teaching experiences together with Professors Lisa Kay, Wendy Osterweil, JoAnna Moore, and Pepón Osorio.
Monthly ECAT meetings will begin again in the Fall 2016 semester.

Last Thursday, Tyler's Art Education Department was proud to once again host a meeting for Early Career Art Teachers (ECAT). It was a wonderful reunion with 17 ECATs, the largest attending group yet! Attendees had a chance to make some new connections with preservice and practicing art teachers alike, as well as reunite with old friends.
The last ECAT meeting for the semester will be Thursday, April 21, from 5-7 pm. Teachers and interested Tyler students will get a chance to visit the Art of Student Teaching Exhibition, talk about their students' artwork, and share their teaching experiences.
