In the Tyler School of Art and Architecture's state-of-the-art digital services facilities, students have immediate access to the coolest digital technology available.

Architecture Information Technology Center

The Architecture Information Technology Center offers students and faculty a number of both small and large format printing options. These options include several different large format plotters, gloss paper, transparent film, matte film and a variety of sizes up to 36 inches wide. Students may also take advantage of our 24-inch wide scanner, cutting table and small format scanner. The ITC also offers checkout equipment such as cameras, projectors, SD card readers and access to our photo room, where students can photograph models and projects they create.

Architecture Woodshop and Digital Fabrication Lab

Located in Architecture 110, the Architecture Woodshop provides students with the opportunity to develop and expand their creative abilities and materialize their ideas. Full-time technical service is available to assist with equipment usage and design and construction consultation. Equipment includes a table saw, band saws, miter saw, planer, jointer, router table, drill press and sanding machines, among an assortment of power and hand tools.

The Architecture Digital Fabrication Lab, in Architecture 107, offers students the use of laser machines (for cutting, etching and scoring) as well as 3D printers (stereolithography and fused deposition modeling). The lab is staffed with trained consultants who are available to aid in the use of this self-service equipment. As a bridge uniting traditional construction techniques with digital fabrication processes, we also have two 3 axis CNC routers (located in Architecture 109), capable of machining complex forms in a variety of materials, including wood, foam, plastic and plaster.
