What draws me to design is the pairing of utility and beauty. It’s not only necessary to create something that communicates a message clearly, but also to create something that is eye-catching. The excitement of design is how each solution is unique to the designer. My work tends to be vibrant, playful and is a reflection of my personality. The process also speaks to the individual designer. I tend to work in extremes—hand-done vs. clean graphics, excess vs. minimalism. Pursuing my MFA has allowed me to explore both and to explore how they can work together.
