Why Tyler?

I liked being a part of a larger university while also having that small art school experience. Temple and Tyler provide a lot of great opportunities and have provided me with a well-rounded educational experience. I was most interested in taking advantage of the study abroad programs the most. It was a perfect for me since Tyler had a great Art History program and a campus in Rome.

What is your major and why do you love it?

I am a fourth year Art History student and I am a big history buff. I love learning about how the visual arts are both objects of beauty and narrators of the past. My favorite part of the program is studying works throughout the semester and eventually seeing some in a museum for the first time.

What are some tips you would give to applicants?

Work on your observational drawing skills! Not only will it be helpful for your portfolio, but it'll help you as an artist.

What is a positive experience you’ve had at Tyler so far?

One of my favorite classes had a field trip to the Metropolitan Museum in New York. It was a fun trip and I really enjoyed hearing from my professor while we viewed some of the pieces from class. I was able to really grasp the concepts while also connecting with my classmates. It was my first visit to the museum too!
