Facilities Management

The Bachelor of Science in Facilities Management (B.S. Fac Man) is a four year, 122 credit undergraduate degree program that incorporates two years of Architecture Foundation Studies (62 credits). The program’s junior and senior years comprise 60 credits hours, made up of 26 required architecture credits, 25 required credits in business, statistics, and law, 6 General Education credits and 3 elective credits. The program is a guaranteed degree path for undergraduate students in the Architecture Department in good standing in the University at the end of their second year.

The Facilities Management Program's curricular offerings are based on real-world experience and engagement through visits to the classroom by professional faciilty managers, site visits, and application of current facility management best practices in students' coursework and planning proposals.

The Architecture Department offers 16 credits of required courses specifically for facilities management students. Another 10 required architecture credits are common to all Architecture Department students. Courses in accounting, micro economics, real estate, human resource management and operations management are offered in the Fox School of Business and Management and one required course is offered in the School of Law. Students may attend TU Rome or TU Japan, where offerings may fulfill free elective and business requirements. The program concludes with a capstone research seminar, in which students demonstrate competency in facility management through applied research, and a management planning proposal presented in report and public presentation format.
