Growing up with substantial roots in both Canada and New Zealand greatly influences the development of my work and practice. Having lived in and traveled between both numerous times has allowed me to explore a considerable hidden facets of diverse landscapes, spaces, and cultures.
My interests lie in exploring the intangible, elusive and invisible aspects of human perceptual experience and memory. I investigate perceptual remnants such as fleeting imprints left over from the process of breathing as well as ethereal residues and trace memories that inevitably remain from internal and external bodily struggles, exchanges between individuals and space, and passage between the material and spiritual world. I am drawn to explore the tenuous and fluctuating boundaries between these struggles and exchanges in an attempt to travel beyond the conventional senses.
