Allen Pierce is the principal of Heima, an architecture and design practice focused on small, high-craft projects that seek depth of experience through the careful tuning of material in time. A co-founder of the “ideas workshop” Gnomon, Allen is engaged in research on Open Building, writing on sociologists Ivan Illich and Richard Sennett alongside the work of Team 10, John Habraken and their ideological descendants.
