ROMA
Opening Reception: Friday, February 2, 5-7 p.m.
Every year, Tyler School of Art and Architecture hosts Festa di Roma, a showcase of all things Rome and a strengthening of ties between Tyler and Temple University’s Rome campus. An exhibition of artwork traditionally opens Festa. Building on last year’s Festa di Roma exhibition which showcased the work of BFA majors studying in Rome, this year’s exhibition, titled ROMA, spotlights the MFA program in Rome.
ROMA presents artwork made by four MFA students from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture who studied at Temple University’s Rome campus in 2023.
Jodi Canfield: Painting
Alessandra Puglisi: Sculpture
Henry Rosenberg: Printmaking
Katharine Suchan: Painting
This is the largest cohort of MFA students to study in Rome in more than a decade, and the exhibition offers a moment to reflect on what is possible there.
Central to the experience of studying in Rome is the opportunity to immerse in a culture at once ancient and contemporary, and an even deeper immersion in artmaking. The time in Rome is often transformative at the artistic and personal level, and over the 67 years of its existence, Temple University Rome has played a central role in the development of countless Tyler students.
