Tyler faculty are engaged in research methods that span techniques in both thinking and making within creative disciplines. Some explore historical conditions and test theories to better understand ways to make architecture. Others investigate materials and methods of construction and design to test limits and find new horizons for making. Many work directly with communities, people and environments to develop innovative partnerships and collaborations. Through their work, Tyler’s built environment faculty drive the vision and evolution of the programs.
The Urban Workshop is a collaborative, interdisciplinary initiative that partners with underserved communities to design environments that are vibrant, healthy, and resilient.
