Tyler's Architecture and Environmental Design faculty are engaged in impactful research and creative practice across a range of disciplines. The knowledge and innovation they generate guides both research inquiry and teaching.

Centered in Design and Planning

Faculty research and creative practices look to the future, shaping sustainable design, impacting socio-cultural conditions and human behavior, and working with digital and physical technologies in our environments.

Tyler faculty are engaged in research methods that span techniques in both thinking and making within creative disciplines. Some explore historical conditions and test theories to better understand ways to make architecture. Others investigate materials and methods of construction and design to test limits and find new horizons for making. Many work directly with communities, people and environments to develop innovative partnerships and collaborations. Through their work, Tyler’s built environment faculty drive the vision and evolution of the programs.
