Are you planning to apply to an art school? This workshop is for you! Designed as intensive portfolio preparation classes, students leave Portfolio Boot Camp with an understanding of image presentation, knowledge about the college admissions process and finished pieces that will distinguish them as exceptional artists.
Recognizing that observational drawing is often the most important feature an admissions counselor considers when reviewing a portfolio, every Boot Camp includes drawing from still-life, figure models and other live sources. You can select a Boot Camp that focuses on black and white media or color media—we encourage you to take both for a well-rounded portfolio. Previous observational drawing experience is required. Our online programs will utilize pre-recordings and still images of clothed figure models.
Tyler Pre-College & Continuing Education is planning for a fall semester that is primarily in person, and we are offering a fall schedule with a broad range of in-person classes. All participants will follow Temple's health and safety requirement that all members of the campus community wear masks indoors and in enclosed spaces. Temple’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic continues to be informed by guidance issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the City of Philadelphia. Classes are designed to be as interactive as possible and will include:
• Live face-to-face instruction and presentations with your instructors
• Time for hands-on art-making and projects, both independently and in small groups
• Critique and discussion of projects with your instructors and classmates
