Abby Guido is a communication designer, educator, and academic leader whose research focuses on collaboration, leadership, and the evolving role of the designer in education and practice.

She investigates how human-centered design principles and industry best practices can be translated into the classroom to better prepare students for professional success. Her work explores ways to foster inclusive, team-based design environments—both in academia and in the field.

Abby brings this research to life through Design Together, a podcast she hosts that features conversations with designers, educators, and creative leaders about the challenges and possibilities of working together. The podcast serves as both a platform for sharing insights and a reflection of her commitment to collaborative learning.

At the Tyler School of Art and Architecture at Temple University, Abby has led major curriculum initiatives, including the launch of new BFA programs and interdisciplinary minors. Her leadership extends beyond the classroom through faculty governance, mentorship, and cross-university collaborations, aimed at improving design education at scale.

She is also the founder of Abby Ryan Design, a studio specializing in branding, publishing, UX, and UI design. Her clients include Nancy Silverton, the American Translators Association, the University of Pennsylvania, and Research for Action.
