Amy Haavik-MacKinnon holds a BA from Vassar College, a MA from the University of Manchester in England, and a PhD from Bryn Mawr College—all in the field of art history. She has a strong affinity for British culture and history, having lived in England during her middle school years and later working and studying there. Her doctoral research focused on contemporary British art and identity.
Amy Haavik-MacKinnon resides in South Philadelphia with her husband, two daughters, and two dogs. She has a deep love for all animals! In her free time, she enjoys exploring new places, watching movies, reading, particularly Nordic Noir and The New Yorker, and keeping up with contemporary art, especially socially-engaged practices. Additionally, she is a certified yoga teacher and a dedicated practitioner.
