MA Student Art History

Dilcia Martinez (she/her) is a first-year Art History MA student specializing in Modern and Contemporary Latin American art. Her research interests center on how artists engage with histories of colonialism, resistance, and collective memory, with particular attention to the intersections of identity, land, and political power. She is especially interested in how artistic practices challenge inherited narratives and create alternative forms of memory and knowledge production.

Prior to pursuing graduate study, Dilcia developed extensive experience in museum education. She currently works as a Gallery Teacher at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and previously worked as a Museum Educator at the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas. She holds a BA in Anthropology with a minor in Art History from the University of Central Florida.
