Jen Zarro teaches and coordinates a General Education race and diversity course that investigates historic and contemporary art of the Americas and examines how art shapes or challenges our understandings about identity, race, diversity, and community.
Her doctoral research analyzed prints, maps, and the culture of geography in late-18th-century Philadelphia, focusing on how printed imagery supported early nation-building ideas. A lifelong Philadelphian, Jen remains closely connected to the city’s historic and contemporary arts communities. Jen is a practicing artist, bookbinder, and papermaker and exhibits her work through national and local organizations dedicated to these crafts.
