Keith Anthony Morrison, Emeritus Professor and former Dean of the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, passed away on June 1, 2026.

Morrison served as Tyler's dean from 2005 to 2008 and continued his association with the school as a Professor of Painting until his retirement in 2018 and subsequently as Professor Emeritus. An internationally recognized artist, curator, and educator, he was known for work that explored history, memory, and the global African diaspora. Born in Linstead, Jamaica, Morrison earned both his BFA and MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and represented Jamaica at the 2001 Venice Biennale. He was later honored by his native country with the title Commander in the Order of Distinction.

Throughout his distinguished academic career, Morrison held leadership positions at several institutions across the United States while remaining an active artist, curator, and dedicated advocate for artists and arts organizations.
