Lena Kolb’s work exists in the space between painting and weaving, where image and structure intertwine and inform one another.
Painted surfaces are disrupted and reconfigured; representation begins to fade, and distortions take shape. Lena is a weaver and teaching artist currently based in Philadelphia, PA. She received a BS in Elementary and Special Education from Temple University and an MFA from the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. She has shown work nationally at Fleisher Art Memorial, Ogden Museum of Southern Art, Hilliard Art Museum, Ice Box Project Space, and more.
