Nabeel Naveed (b. 1997) is from Lahore, Pakistan. In 2025, Naveed exhibited in Memory and Material at Grizzly Grizzly, Philadelphia; TBD at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Philadelphia; and Fugue/Body, a three-person show at Khaas Contemporary, Lahore.

He holds a BFA in Studio Painting from the National College of Arts (NCA) Lahore and is currently pursuing his Master of Fine Arts at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Philadelphia, USA. In 2025, Naveed featured in New American Paintings, No. 183 (MFA Annual Issue), and SENSUS, Issue 02 (Philadelphia).

Artist Statement

In my practice of image-making in paint and video, observations of escape, guilt, time, freedom, and existence construct relationships between complex systems of control. These relationships intersect with my history of erasure and access to knowledge. In re-presenting this ecosystem, I use an amalgamation of temporal identities that live parallel with people, power, sustenance, and weathering. These are anchored to my surface-plane to create spatial relationships rooted in the chokehold of fact, fiction and history
