Shuang Wu (she/they) is an Assistant Professor of Creative Technology in the Department of Design and Illustration at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture, Temple University. She is also the co-founder of Our Studio (吾设计), a multidisciplinary design practice based in New York and Shanghai.
Working across typography, interaction design, motion, and immersive media, Shuang's creative practice explores multilingual typography, visual translation, and cross-cultural communication. Her research investigates how design bridges language, culture, identity, and emerging technologies to create accessible, inclusive, and engaging experiences across print, digital, and interactive media.
Prior to joining Temple University, Shuang taught at Virginia Tech, the Kansas City Art Institute, and the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). She also worked in branding, advertising, UI/UX, and digital product design with organizations including Wix.com, NetEase, and Champions Design.
Shuang received her MFA in Graphic Design from Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA). Her work has been exhibited internationally and recognized by Communication Arts, STA 100, Dezeen, and the International Design Awards (IDA). She has presented her creative practice and research at Typographics, SECAC, and the College Art Association (CAA), and has served as a visiting critic at Pratt Institute, Parsons School of Design, MICA, and The George Washington University.
