Stephen is dedicated to the belief that art shapes ideology and that education is crucial for achieving social justice and social mobility. Prior to joining Tyler Academic Advising in 2023, he worked as Coordinator of Academic Writing Support for another local college. As such, much of Stephen's experience lies in support of more traditionally academic areas such as art history, art therapy, art education, and visual studies.

He holds an MFA in fiction and MA in children's, middle grade, and young adult publishing from Rosemont College (Villanova University). A Temple University alumnus, he completed his undergrad at the College of Liberal Arts in English literature, LGBT+ studies, and gender, sexuality, and women's studies.

Stephen is the author of two multi-genre and hybrid poetry chapbooks, A Portrait of Brotherhood as Two Boys from Space (2025) and His Boyfriend Materials (2024), both of which are available from Bottlecap Press. He serves as Editor in Chief for Who's the King?: Men, Manhood, and Masc Anthology, an annual print publication featuring writing and visual art that explores the interconnected challenges impacting the public and private lives of those who express themselves in a masculine way, regardless of gender identity. Stephen's poetry and prose have appeared in various literary magazines, journals, and anthologies.
