AED Presents: Katherine Hogan & Vinny Petrarca
Katherine Hogan and Vinny Petrarca are co-owners and principals of Katherine Hogan Architects, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. They have crafted a diverse body of work recognized nationally for innovative solutions to complex problems and for using ordinary materials in inventive ways. Their portfolio represents a fresh, distinctive approach to design, one that balances craft, making and implementation of architecture.
Katherine Hogan Architects was recently included in an exhibition at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale entitled A SOUTH FORTY. The show includes 40 regional firms and aims to provide an overview of the current vitality of contemporary architecture and design in the American South.
Katherine earned her B.Arch. in 2005 from Syracuse University as a University Scholar, with a minor in Italian language. Vinny has extensive architectural experience and is also a licensed general contractor. Together their insights inform their firm’s hybrid approach to architectural practice, grounded in real constraints, budgets, and constructability.
