Design Education = Education Design(ed): Andrew Phillips, Charter High School for Architecture + Design (ChAD)
Andrew is an award-winning architect and educator from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Along with his practice, Andrew currently serves as the Director of Design Education at The Charter High School for Architecture + Design (ChAD). ChAD was founded in September 1999 by the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects as a Convention 2000 legacy. ChAD is a tuition-free, open application, public school of choice to about 600 students in grades 9 through 12. There are no admission requirements of any kind to enroll at ChAD. The school reaches out to minorities and the disadvantaged with the goal of increasing their presence in the design fields to better reflect our society as a whole.
