Printmaking

Tyler’s  Printmaking program prepares students to seize opportunities by exposing them to a wide range of concepts and techniques, and by focusing on career development while students are still in school. Printmaking is housed in large, modern, fully equipped studios, a nearly 10,000 sf facility with three large rooms for lithography, etching/relief/monoprinting, and screen printing. Newly built racks hold hundreds of screens and litho stones, while student work is stored in dozens of large flat files. This area contains an acid room for copper etching, spray booth, eight printing presses, a separate graduate printing room, large graduate studios, stone preparation room, washout room, critique room, an exhibition area and a 12-station computer lab with large format printing capability. Great care was taken with ventilation of this area with separate overhead snorkels for each printing press, multiple bench top intake ducts, and many other refinements to provide for a safe facility.
