MoMA acquires sculpture by Barbara Chase-Riboud

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) has acquired The Albino (aka All that Rises Must Converge/Black), 1972, its fourth acquisition of Barbara Chase-Riboud's work. Her solo show Barbara Chase-Riboud--Malcolm X: Complete is currently on view at Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, New York.  Chase-Riboud received her Bachelor of Fine Art from Tyler in 1957.   Read More

The Game: recent work from Painting BFA alumna Angela Washko '09

Angela Washko, a writer, game developer, and teacher at Carnegie Mellon University graduated from Tyler in 2009. She was interviewed this summer in The Guardian about her work about online societies here. Her work The Game: The Game 2.0 is currently on view at the Squeaky Wheel Film and Media Art Center in Buffalo, NY through December 9, 2017. The exhibition is presented in conjunction with the Digital Humanities Group at Canisius College and The Department of Art at the University of Buffalo.  Read More

Print Slam 2017 at Tyler Recap

Here are some photos of Prints Link Philadelphia’s “Print Slam” professional development event, hosted by Tyler School of Art and Architecture AECAP Department, PAEA Region 12, and Prints Link Philadelphia.  Founded in 2009, Prints Link Philadelphia is an open membership coalition of schools, community arts organizations, museums, art educators, and artists who promote printmaking to Pre-K through 12th grade students in the Greater Philadelphia region. This Print Slam event facilitated art educators to engage as artists with gelatin and trace monotypes printmaking media. These artist educators will bring what they have learned beyond this workshop to their students and classrooms. Read More
