Jiyong Lee Lecture and Demo

Jiyong Lee is a Korean-born artist who uses a special glass technique called “cold working” to create his unusual, segmented sculptures inspired by the growth of cells. He is a professor of art and head of the glass program at Southern Illinois University. His work has been exhibited both nationally and internationally and appears in the collections of the Barry Art Museum, the Corning Museum of Glass and Chanel France.

Join us for a lecture by Jiyong Lee on his work and practice, followed by a demo by the artist in the Glass Cold Shop where he will present a HXTAL laminating demo that will cover how to prepare glass for gluing as well as other helpful tips.
