Life at Tyler

Students at Tyler School of Art benefit from an uncommon vantage point. Tyler is a window onto a global network of artists of every kind: painters, printmakers, photographers, sculptors, craftspersons, architects, art educators, scholars, and designers (to name just a few)—all at the forefront of their disciplines.

It is at the same time an intensely personal place—focused intently on the individual creative growth and exploration of every student.

It is a hub of constant collaboration among departments, disciplines, and media, and it is built on the foundation of individual relationships that leave lifelong imprints.

It is a superb and intense fine art school of 1600 students, set among the myriad resources of Temple University, a great urban research university of 37,000, at home in one of the most culturally rich cities in the United States.
