Join Tyler's Art History Department for a talk titled By Honor or by Merit: Women in the Accademia di San Luca , 1600-1700, presented by Dr. Peter M. Lukehart, Associate Dean for the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art.

Dr. Lukeheart will assess the roles women played within the Accademia di San Luca by addressing contested ideas about the levels of participation and membership existing for academicians of either gender throughout the seventeenth century.
