Art History Presents: Jill Casid: "Doing Things with Being Undone in the Necrocene"
A theorist, historian, author and practicing artist, Jill Casid, professor of visual studies in the departments of art histo-ry and gender and women’s studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Since the publication of Sowing Empire: Landscape and Colonization, which received the College Art Association’s Millard Meiss award, she contin-ues to write on postcolonial, queer and feminist approach-es to landscape while pursuing work on the history and theory of photography and the materializing effects of im-aging. Casid is currently at work on a two-book project called Form at the Edges of Life.
