Gamboa is an artist, writer and educator who founded and directed the performance troupe Virtual Vérité (2005-2017) and was previously the co-founder of LA based performance group Asco (1972-1985). Gamboa interprets, complicates and critiques the urban Chicano experience through humor, satire and performance. Gamboa recently published Xoloitzuintli Doppelgänger and other stories, a fictional exploration of 21st century urban life. He works primarily in photo and performance, using absurdism and science fiction to reflect on the Chicano experience in LA.
