I Really Like That! Dona Nelson's Collection of Tyler Artists

Tyler Painting Professor Dona Nelson has curated a group exhibition from her collection of paintings and works on paper by Tyler graduates on the occasion of her retirement after more than 30 years.

The exhibition, which includes more than 30 works from 1963 to 2021, includes pieces made while the artists were students at Tyler, several that were given to Nelson, but most that were purchased from the artists soon after or many years after they graduated.

"What you see in the show are artworks that caught my eye," said Nelson. "I am an impulse art collector, but I truly love my collection. During the spring and summer of 2020, when I was mostly home by myself, my collection was very important to me."
