Jason Patterson Lecture

In collaboration with Temple University’s Charles L. Blockson Afro-American Collection—one of the nation's leading research facilities for the study of the history and culture of people of African descent—and Tyler’s Printmaking Program, Jason Patterson will be immersing himself in a semester-long research project of the underground railroad along Maryland’s shore. Tonight, he will share the work he has made at Tyler in response to this research.

Patterson is known for making figurative pastel drawings based on archived images. Through an intensive research-based process, Patterson represents African American historical and social narratives and connects them to contemporary circumstances.
