Nikki Columbus to give talk on institutional critique
Nikki Columbus will give a talk on institutional critique as part of the AH grad seminar Tools for Change :Transforming Institutions. Columbus is a writer and editor based in New York. This past spring, she organized and chaired a series of online forums on building a socially just future in the arts and education, titled “Art • Work • Place: Emergency Sessions,” co-presented with the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the Vera List Center for Art and Politics. She was executive editor at Parkett and previously, an associate editor at Artforum. Between these two editorial posts, she was a curator at Townhouse Gallery, a nonprofit arts space in Cairo.
Columbus will discuss her critical and organizing practice and engage with students in the class based on a prompt she has assigned. All interested students and faculty are welcomed to attend the talk . Contact Linda.earle@temple.edu for the zoom link.
