Photography Lecture: Jeff McConnell (MFA '00)

Tyler alum Jeff McConnell (MFA '00) will give a lecture about his artwork based on photography without lenses.

Jeff McConnell lives in the forests of New Jersey, and found alternative photography when there was no camera of a kind to make the pictures he imagined. He received an MFA in Photography from Tyler in 2000, where Martha Madigan suggested “maybe try pinhole,” after the last semester had ended. He has been exploring photography without lenses ever since, has shown work widely, and given workshops in numerous countries.  He likes the potential pinhole cameras have to create images that describe space and time differently than lens cameras do. There are so many ways to catch the sun.

This event is supported by Temple University's General Activities Fund (GAF).
