Assistant Professor of Instruction
Architecture
Jeff Richards, RA
Jeff Richards is a registered architect whose work explores the potential of architectonic components such as material, structure and building envelope to both reinforce and transform conceptual approach. His teaching and practice examine the relationship between building performance and human experience for the purpose of grounding a building in the identity of its particular people and place, engendering connection and fellowship in an ever-divisive world and envisioning responsible techniques of sustainability that are not only serviceable but emblematic.
Richards’s previous professional experience has involved a diversity of work encompassing many scales, programs and places while working for the firms of both Bohlin Cywinski Jackson and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill. He has previously taught a broad range of courses including architectural design, building technology and history, and theory.
