Kaitlin McDonough’s work addresses the question:  how can a painting champion haptic ways of receiving and processing knowledge?   Informed by the multiplicity of visual strategies at play in Roman wall paintings and by sociological paradigms--her paintings expand visual poetics beyond a notational mode of language and function as locations for engagement.
