Artist Statement

My studio work explores the grid, pattern, repetition and labor. These experimental investigations are realized through a materials-based practice in the form of drawings, paintings and sketches. Currently my work explores floor maps, quilts and rug drawings. I examine these visual effects of geometry by utilizing a black and white palette and the imperfections of my own hand. The combination of these elements provides an abstracted lens through which to consider our everyday patterns.
