Program Requirements

General Program Requirements for the Master of Science in Facilities Planning:

Total Number of Credits Required to Earn the Degree: 30

The Master of Science in Facilities Planning will serve students who have an academic background in facilities management at the undergraduate level or experience through practice and who are looking to pursue an advanced degree that focuses on further specialization in the profession. The Health Facilities concentration is available for students pursuing health management. The health facilities concentration is available as a degree option for students in the MPH in Health Policy and Management program, as well as students in the MS in Health Informatics program.

The required workshop course gives students the opportunity to work together in a classroom setting on academic projects that are best addressed through interdisciplinary collaborative work. This gives students a taste of the work environment in healthcare management and facilities planning.

The Certificate in Health Facilities Planning is a collaboration between Tyler and the College of Public Health. The program offers coursework in health facilities planning and in public health so that students can understand the relationship between health management and health facilities. The required workshop course gives students the opportunity to work together in a classroom setting on academic projects that are best addressed through interdisciplinary collaborative work. This gives students a taste of the work environment in healthcare management and facilities planning.
