Artist Statement

Monitors on moveable furniture play different looping videos of a man and woman translating fragments of a romantic text from English into Spanish.  Neither are completely bilingual.  They talk as a means to connect, building and testing hypotheses of word feeling and meaning.  Small moments of humor and intimacy are sprinkled into the impossibility of finding the right words in the expansive possibility of language.
