Panel Discussion: The Impact of Immigration on Arts and Culture in the US

2018 marks the centenary of the late Philadelphia artist Romas Viesulas and the centenary of the modern statehood of Lithuania, the country in which he was born. Because of the Soviet occupation of Lithuania after World War II, Viesulas immigrated to the United States. As an artist in exile, he taught printmaking for 25 years at the Tyler School of Art and Architecture. His teaching invited students to celebrate diveersity and their unique cultural inheritance.

On Wednesday, November 14, a panel discussion will be held at 4:30 pm to focus on the impact of immigration on arts and culture in the United States. Free and open to the public.

Panelists:

  • Tatiana Reinoa, PhD, Art Historian, Dartmouth College
