Brittany Strupp (PhD 2022)
Brittany Strupp joined the Buffalo AKG Museum of Art (formerly the Albright-Knox Art Gallery) as Manager of Interpretation in July 2022; she also manages the docent corps. Her previous curatorial and education positions were at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the National Gallery of Art (Washington, DC), the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, and the Smithsonian American Art Museum. She assisted these institutions in creating structures of engagement and developed interpretive materials for special exhibitions and collection reinstallation projects over the past 15 years. She is a strong believer in the transformative power of art and will work at Buffalo AKG to develop a comprehensive interpretive plan and innovative interpretive tools, including an audio experience, to engage diverse communities with the museum’s collections.
