2024 Atelier MFA Show
The question posed in the show’s title considers the peacock— long associated with excess, the ruling class, the status quo, and the cult of the individual. The artists in this exhibition make work that questions, undermines, dissects, and troubles long held beliefs about the structures in place and the role of the individual. As the climate crisis worsens, wealth inequality skyrockets, and global conflicts carry on despite our indignation, these artists ask, how long does it take for a peacock to die?
