Artist Statement

My work explores technology and its impact on industry and material. With a history in ceramics and installation art mediums, I often combine the two to create works that are both intimate and personal as well as grand and overwhelming. Machine based making is important to my ceramic work as it draws questions about clay’s dense and sprawling history of tools, technology, and making techniques. Technology also plays a role in concept surrounding my installation work in terms of examining industrialization and our neoliberal landscape.
