Dear Pre-College Community,

We are writing to you with some updated information about Tyler's pre-college summer programs. We have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and assessing its impact on our programs.

In order to ensure the continued safety of all of our students, faculty and staff, we have decided to host our programs online for summer 2020.

Before making this decision, we spent time consulting with Tyler's incredible faculty to make sure we have a plan in place to develop a fun and engaging educational experience for our students. We are excited to say that we have been able to replicate much of our curriculum to provide you with a meaningful introduction to Tyler and Temple that will allow you to explore your interests, build new skills, learn about creative career paths and make artwork under the guidance of our dedicated faculty.

However, we have had to make some difficult choices about modifying our schedule. We will no longer be offering programs during the June 22 - July 2 session. While some of our Pre-College Summer Workshops will be adjusted to classes specifically designed for online learning, all of our programs will still be running as scheduled during the July 6 - 17 session and the July 20 - 31 session. The Environmental Design Institute will now be offered during the July 20 - 31 session.

So, what does this mean for you?
You have options! For most of our students, their class choices will not be impacted. However, any student can change dates or class choices without penalty. Below is a snap shot of the revised schedule:

Ok, but will it still feel like Tyler and Temple?
Yes! You'll be a member of a diverse community of students from across the country and around the globe, and you'll be engaged in meaningful educational work that is connected to the real world. We are also finding creative ways to help you experience our campus and the city of Philadelphia, and look forward to hosting pre-college meet-ups for this summer's participants when it is safe to gather on campus again.

If you are currently enrolled and feel our online summer programs are not the right fit for you, you may withdraw from the program and receive a full refund.
