Video Art & Motion Graphics

Exercise your creative expression and explore visual communication through moving images and motion graphics. This workshop introduces the technical and conceptual possibilities of time-based media using digital video, motion graphics, digital effects and sound. A practical foundation for digital production techniques will be introduced through the use of Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Class time will focus on essential tools and methods through a series of video exercises and a larger final video project. Appropriate for all artistic levels.

  • Course Instructor

    Haigen Pearson

    • Haigen G. Pearson is an artist living and working in Philadelphia, PA. He currently is an adjunct assistant professor at Tyler School of Art. His practice explores cultural phenomena through a multidisciplinary approach of photography, graphic design, moving image, and sound. His work has been exhibited in Salt Lake City, Roma, Philadelphia, New York City, and Brisbane. He received his BFA from the University of Utah and his MFA from the Tyler School of Art at Temple University.

Supply List

Students must be prepared with their supplies on the first day of classes in order to participate. Tyler Pre-College & Continuing Ed Programs require students to purchase supplies for their classes so that all students have access to the same materials and can learn with the same resources. For our fall 2020 online programs, we have made sure that any required supplies are safe and practical for use at home. Please wait to receive your final program confirmation email from the Tyler PCE office before purchasing your supplies—these confirmations will be sent no later than 10 days before your program begins.

  • Please Note: All Fall 2020 - Spring 2021 Weekend Workshops will be held online. Each of our classes has been adapted specifically for online instruction to allow students to engage in hands-on learning from the safety of their homes. For more information click HERE.
  • This class is open to adults and high school students.
  • No class held on April 3, 2021.
