Botanical Traditions Garden Day

Plant medicine is traditional medicine. Stop by any time during the day to enjoy some food and medicine-making at the Botanical Traditions Garden! Grazing fare will include chickweed pesto, purslane frittata, dandelion greens salad, violet syrup add assorted food from the natural spring bounty. Professor Charlene Briggs will be making some Dandelion Root Tinctures. Professor Christina Roberts will bring her dye class from Tyler to plant dye plants. Bring your garden gloves for harvesting the “weeds”. In Botanical Traditions, students learn how to identify, plant, grow, harvest, store and prepare common plants for food, medicine and dye and examine botanical medicine traditions. EVERYONE WELCOME!
