Distinguished Art History Alumni & Scholars Lecture: Dr. Jack Wasserman, "Jacopo Pontormo's Virgin and Child with Saint Anne"

Dr. Jack Wasserman is an acclaimed scholar in quattrocento and cinquecento Italian art, author of major books, scores of articles, recipient of prestigious grants, and is an elected Accademico Benemerito of the Accademia di San Luca in Rome. His talk focuses on this major Pontormo piece, paying particular attention to the complexities of its iconography and how the medallion depicted in it relates to Florentine politics and society at that time.
