  • Drawing

      Session I: June 26 - July 7 /
      AM or PM Session

      Drawing is fundamental to the vocabulary of an artist and is an essential tool for observing, recording and responding to the world around us. This workshop is ideal for those who need to sharpen their basic drawing skills, whether you’re a new or experienced artist. Using a variety of drawing materials including pencil, charcoal and conté, students are introduced to the technical elements of line, tone, form and composition. You’ll experiment with drawing from many sources, from landscape and still life to the human form. Appropriate for all artistic levels. 

  • Graphic Design Foundations

      Session I: June 26 - July 7 /
      AM Session

      Graphic design is applied to everything visual, from road signs to board games. This workshop will introduce the process of using digital tools to create and combine symbols, images and text to visually communicate ideas and messages. By integrating digital photography, typography and your own illustrations, you’ll explore fundamental methods and principles. Projects utilize Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop and develop technical skills and aesthetic understanding. Appropriate for beginners. Basic Macintosh computer skills are recommended. NOTE: The Graphic Design Foundations workshop is only available as an AM class. Please see the Studio Schedule when making your class choices.
