Temple Contemporary hosted two sold-out performances this past weekend where audiece members had the privilege of watching the world premiere, Symphony for a Broken Orchestra, composed by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer David Lang. We are pleased to announce that Temple Contemporary has been awarded $300,000 by The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage for the development and implementation of a new project, Symphony for a Broken Orchestra. Symphony for a Broken Orchestra is a visionary new composition by David Lang featuring the School District of Philadelphia’s 1,500 broken instruments.
